Gilmore Speaks Presents the 1st Annual Spring Tournament 

The Spring Tournament will include students from 16 different classes across San Diego County. Competing for Prizes and placement. This will give students the opportunity to prepare and practice, applying techniques that have been taught the correct way, to share your thoughts in a confident manner. 

Events: 

• Storytelling (9am-10am) 

• Poems (10am-11am) 

• Pitch Presentation (11am-12pm) 

• Persuasive Speaking (1pm-2pm) 

• Team Debate Bracket (2pm-3:30pm)

For Speeches, each student will compete with a trained judge, who will be making a decision on the top 5 competitors. 

​

For Debate, students will compete in a bracket system which will allow students to debate in at least 1 round, with the winner moving on to the next round. Each round is 25 minutes and each team will be debating either Affirmative or Negative, weighing arguments on the topic of the effects of social media on our society.

Our team is excited to give the students an opportunity to showcase their public speaking skillset. We hope to see you there!
